CHINA 2011

Introduction – Overview – Reflections

Letter from the Producer

Ni hao –

It seems like just yesterday we were traveling through China.  Before you know it, you will be hearing about our trip to the United Kingdom during summer 2012.

But let’s look back at China for a moment before we move forward. Regardless of the challenges along the way – perhaps the weather being the most significant – it was a spectacular experience.

Participants in YaleGALE and participants in the Yale Alumni Service Corps at the Great Wall of China holding banners of the two organizations.

We started the week with the World Alumni Leadership Conference in Beijing where we hosted representatives from 50 universities. Thanks to the Peking University for their assistance in organizing the conference. We went on to visit 5 world class educational institutions throughout China giving us the opportunity to learn about alumni relations in many places.  We made connections – and we made friends. What more fitting result could there be for travel in the Year of the Rabbit.

All the best,

Kathy Edersheim ‘87
