January 2018: Winter Luncheons this year were held at the beginning of January.
Some Yale alumni who attended the Yale Club Winter Luncheon in Harrisburg, including President Mike Kline and Treasurer Rodrigo Diaz. Ten of us showed up for the annual Winter Holiday Luncheon at the Susquehanna Harvest in Harrisburg, on Jan. 4.
Thanks to President Michael Kline for making the arrangements and hosting. The fire was cozy and the butternut squash soup delicious. The Classes of ’70 and ’71 were well represented.
Some Yale alumni and spouses who attended the Yale Club Winter Luncheon in State College a week later (Jan. 13). For the second year in a row, the Yale Club held a second Winter Luncheon for folks in the State College area. Thanks to Charles Dumas for making arrangements at Federal Tap House and hosting. Eleven of us braved the cold and nasty weather, but the appetizers, gourmet pizza, and salad were quite tasty, and the conversation warming. From the Tavern windows, we were able to look down on the Martin Luther King Plaza, completed during 2017. And while a bit was covered in snow, Charles was able to point out memorable aspects of it.
